Congratulations! You are a proud owner of an LCD television. You are probably considering mounting it from the first time you had planned to buy it. If you do the mounting properly, surely, you will enjoy watching your new LCD TV.
Here are some few things that you should take into consideration if you are thinking of mounting your LCD TV:
Tv Ceiling Mounts
o TV Size - there are different mounts for different models and sizes of TV. You do not just pick the first mount you see and use it to use television. A wall mount for a 22-inch model is very different from a wall mount of a 50-inch TV. The hardware for mounting needs more support if your TV is quite large so they have multiple fasteners instead of having only one. There is also a difference in the brackets of a larger TV from a smaller one.
o Wall type - you can mount your LCD TV to many types of walls. You can mount you television to a concrete wall, or a wall with wood studding, which is more common. For wood studding, you need a stud finder to find the center of the studs. For concrete walls, anchors are needed to ensure a safe and secure connection. Usually, the wall mounts already have the appropriate fastener.
o LCD TV Wall Mount Type - you have choices among an arm mount, fixed wall mount, tilting wall mount, and a motorized wall mount type. Let us talk about each type briefly.
If you choose to use the fixed type, be sure that you place your flat screen where you really want it because once this is mounted, you will not be able to move it anymore. So the name implies, it is fixed.
For the tilting type, you are able to rotate about 5 degrees up and 15 degrees down. This type of mount gives you some flexibility to ensure an adequate viewing angle. This is usually suggested for large flat screen televisions in a family room.
The arm mount type on the other hand is more commonly used for smaller LCD TVs. You television is flat against the wall but can swing out a foot or so from the wall if you want to adjust the viewing angle. Sometimes it is also called articulating arm mounts.
The motorized wall mount is considered to be the best. By a touch of a single button, you can rotate the your TV to your preferred viewing angle. Simply amazing. It is wonderful to have this in your home theatre system.
o Cables - it is a sure thing that you will be connecting other multimedia components into your TV. To maintain the neatness of your room, you can place molding to hide the wires from view. Consult an electrician if necessary. Safety is still of primary importance. Do not put off adding the cables. Add them now so that there will be no hassle moving about. It will also be convenient to use HDMI cables.
o Location - the location where you want to mount your TV will depend on how you use the room. It is best to place it where the viewing angle is the best. Remember to leave space for your other gadgets like the speakers.
With these in mind, you are now ready to mount your LCD TV. Enjoy viewing!
